Fun must be at the heart of all our lessons, students learn quicker when they’re having a blast on court.
The path to success is clear to us. Kids learn more if they’re getting more meaningful practice within their hour of tennis coaching.
At a young age that means the coach is feeding the ball in as many scenarios and games as their imagination can muster within the lesson.
As kids get more proficient they get more meaningful practice from partner work on a strong base of technique learnt from their early years. After that it’s off to the races and competition will hold their interest and hone their skills forever.
Adults improve the quickest by understanding the mechanics of the game and achieving maximum repetition of shots within the lesson.
This requires our coaches to understand where each individual student stands relative to other players in group lessons so as to pair players effectively. We pride ourselves on our strong base of adult players whos’ technique has been built from the ground up in many cases.
Our players are addicted to the sport and it’s because they know what skills to hone and how to achieve those goals.
Love the game of tennis and play far too much outside of our coaching schedules
Are better at connecting with and helping children than any other coaches in Barnes, because we adore the hilarity of kids and the challenge that every new student brings and overcomes with our help.
Have a laid back and friendly approach towards adult students, which we back up with the skills and hints to make our learning environment as low-stress and productive as possible.
Ed Francis and Tyler Bodmann started Teqnic Tennis in 2021 within the Barnes and Putney suburbs of London. The two realised that they had a strong affinity for Adult and Junior Group Lessons respectively and that there was a demand for fun and relaxed coaching in the area that was not being met.
What began as an afterschool tennis club for Lowther Primary School in Barnes quickly grew to Tennis Breakfast Clubs and After-School Clubs for over 10 Schools and a weekly client list of over 300 Junior and Adult students.
Mitch Bodmann was brought on as Teqnic’s first full-time coach to meet the demand and he quickly became the fan-favourite of Barnes children across the board at Holiday Camps and Group Lessons alike. The team hopes to continue their growth slowly and passionately so as to maintain the focus on providing top tier coaching for every single student.
